The Way Down

This is drawn in the browser and needs WebGL, which this browser will not give it. The five rooms are below, one picture each.

Go down at your own pace. The door at the bottom is the last of it.

Inside a low grey dome lit from the floor: a long slot window at chest height looking out over flat grey stone to a bank of fog, and in the floor a rectangular well with a poured kerb, stairs going down. — The head

An oval grey stone room: a straight stair coming down out of the ceiling along one wall and, beyond it, a stone table rising from the floor on a waisted stem with nothing on it. No chairs. — The papers

A grey stone room with a narrow groove cut round the walls at chest height, short tick marks cut along the groove, a deep window with a stone ledge under it, and a stair down through the floor. — The count

A long low window full of white fog, a single stone bench under it grown from the floor, the floor crossed by fine pale mended cracks, the room brighter than the ones above. — The waiting

A small grey room, the brightest of them, with a tall flush slab of stone set a little into the far wall, no handle, and a narrow slot window of fog beside it. — The last door
