Has Anyone Seen the Tall One

He comes in Tuesdays, around nine. Stays about 40 min. Never washes anything, just sits through one cycle and watches it. Sometimes a second one.

After, the bench out front. An hour, give or take.

Some Saturday mornings, 20 min. Just looks at the dryers.

He wasn't here last Tuesday or this one. That hasn't happened since I started keeping track, which I realize is a strange thing to say about somebody you've never talked to.

Not trying to bother him. If you know he's OK, take a number and call. You don't have to say anything else.

Office annotationAn index card, handwritten, taken down from the notice board of the laundromat on Sixth Street by the Correspondent on the fifteenth and brought home. He has not said why. The Office notes that the writer records how long and not where, which is the practice of the Bureau of Returning Persons and of no Earth institution known to this Office, and that the writer has not been told of it. The intervals given are 5.95 kadd, 8.93 kadd and 2.98 kadd. The Office's passes for the two evenings stated do not place the Correspondent on Sixth Street. One tab has been removed. The Office holds it.
