Kellid

Kellid: a broad bare landing of trodden earth in watercolour running straight out to the edge of a level white fog sea, edged on both sides by lines of low rounded stones that throw long shadows in a low sun; a row of poured dwellings of mixed forms stands set back to the right, and nothing is on the fog.
Cf. FilmThe ground the plate is drawn from.
KELLID

where the vessels come in

A landing wider than the town, and the town set back from it.

The landing at Kellid is bare and broad and runs to the fog. Low stones are set along both sides of it. Nothing is built on it.

The row stands back and faces the landing, not the fog. The sun is low here most of the day, and the stones throw their shadows the length of it.

The way north to the city starts at the head of the landing. The mends are ivory.

The hollows run along both sides of the landing, under the low stones, where the shadow lies on them most of the day.

FrameA rectangle left open on the fog side. The landing runs out through the gap. ViewpointDrawn from above, as inhabited areas are.
