Kethe

Kethe: one row of seven grey poured dwellings on rust-brown earth in watercolour, every opening turned toward a track running off to the left, thin rust-coloured mend seams on the stone, no fog.
KETHE

where the east comes in

The last halt before the city, coming from the east. The rooms face the city, not the way.

You came in from Sabbin and the city was not yet in sight, and the rooms at Kethe were already facing it. They stand in one row with their doors to the west, so that you sit on the step in the evening looking the way you will go in the morning.

Kethe is near enough to the city that the ones who keep the rooms go in and come back the same turn. It is far enough that nobody from the city comes out to it.

The mends are rust. The city's four colours are not used here, and nobody at Kethe has ever claimed one of them.

FrameA rectangle left open on the city side. Every door at Kethe faces that way. ViewpointDrawn from above, as inhabited areas are.
