Tarrask

Tarrask: a round pool of still white fog in a broad hollow on dry upland, in watercolour; a stepped rim round the pool with three flights of steps going down to it, and a ring of poured dwellings of mixed forms standing round it, every door turned toward the fog.

Two rings of houses, and every door to the pool.

Tarrask faces in. Both rings turn their doors to the pool, and no house here has its back to the fog.

Three flights go down from the inner ring. You sit on them as you would anywhere, and the pool below you is the largest on this side.

The mends are violet. The way out leaves west, and it is the longest way to the city there is.

The hollows are cut into the three flights themselves, a row to each step. You sat among them.
