Bureau of Returning Persons โ€” area sheet

Vithe

Vithe: one row of seven grey poured dwellings on dry ground in watercolour, every opening turned toward a single worn track that comes in from the lower right and ends at the row, thin turquoise mend seams on the stone, low hills behind, no fog.
VITHE

on its own way home

One row, and every door faces Hesk. Vithe is on the way home and on nothing else.

You came out to Vithe from Sellen, on a way that goes nowhere but Vithe, and the row was facing you the whole last stretch. The doors face the way in, which is the way home, which is the same way.

Nobody passes through Vithe. You come to it or you do not. The ones who keep it have all been to Hesk and back more times than anyone on the sheet, because it is the only way there is.

The mends are turquoise, the brightest colour north of the city, and the only one on the sheet that nobody else uses.

FrameA rectangle left open on the side toward Hesk. Every door at Vithe faces that way. ViewpointDrawn from above, as inhabited areas are.
