Ulleth

Ulleth: two short rows of grey poured dwellings meeting at an angle in watercolour, one along a shore of level white fog and one running inland, a bare worn ground where they meet, a short flight of steps down to the fog, stippled hollows along the shore.
ULLETH

where the two ways meet

The shore way and the way south meet here, and the town is built in the angle between them.

You came in along one way or the other, and the row you came in along faced you the whole way in. The two rows meet at a bare worn ground, and that is where you sat, with the sea on one side and the long way south on the other.

From Ulleth the way south runs to the city, and it is the longest stretch on the north side. Nobody sets out on it late in the turn.

The mends are smoke, grey on grey, and in the drift you cannot tell them from the rime. Below the last step the hollows face the sea and take what comes in off it, and the lips are poured high on the sea side.

FrameTwo lines meeting. Ulleth is two short rows at an angle, one on the shore way and one on the way south, and they meet at the sitting ground. ViewpointDrawn from above, as inhabited areas are.
